The beverage industry is a
major contributor to Georgia’s economy. producers of non-alcoholic
refreshing beverages provide well paying jobs in Georgia, pay significant tax
dollars to the government and make sizable charitable contributions in
communities across the state.

Almost 13,000
manufacturing and distribution jobs are created in the beverage
industry in Georgia, including:
o 6,350 soft drink jobs
o 2,780 bottled water jobs
o 1,740 juice products jobs
o 760 other beverage jobs
o 1,230 distribution jobs
In addition to producing
and distributing beverages in Georgia there are a number of other business
sectors and employees throughout the state that benefit from the beverage
industry’s economic impact – including 28,330 retail employees in Georgia that
depend on refreshing beverage sales for their livelihood.
At the state and federal level,
beverage industry firms in Georgia, their employees and firms and employees
indirectly employed paid about $1.2 billion in state taxes and as
much as $1.7 billion in federal taxes.
The beverage industry and
its employees are members of local communities throughout Georgia who have
generously contributed over $55.3 million to charitable causes
across the state.
